Graduate Visa

  • Purpose: A Graduate Visa Allows you to remain in the UK after completing a programme of study.
  • Permitted Activities: Enables you to work in most jobs, be self-employed, and travel abroad; however, you cannot claim benefits.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Location: You must apply for your Graduate Visa in the UK.
  • Visa Type: Currently hold a Student Visa or Tier 4 (General) student visa.
  • Qualification: Completed a degree (undergraduate or postgraduate) or another qualified programme.
  • Notification: Your education provider must inform the Home Office of your successful course completion.

Duration of Stay

  • Typically: Two years, with an extension to three years if you are applying for Graduate visa on a PhD degree.
  • Extension: Cannot extend this visa; switching to another visa type, such as a Skilled Worker visa, is advised.

Application Process

  • Timing: Apply for your Graduate Visa before your Student Visa or Tier 4 (General) student visa expires.
  • Submission: Apply online after your education provider notifies the Home Office of your course completion.
  • Decision: Expect a decision within eight weeks after submitting all required documentation.

Fees

  • Application Fee: £715.
  • Immigration Health Surcharge: Due to increase.
