If you are in a civil partnership with a British citizen, or a person settled in UK, or who is living in the UK lawfully with indefinite leave to remain. To qualify for entry to the UK, you will need to be granted entry clearance prior to your arrival.
Requirements for UK Civil Partner Visa
In order to qualify for a UK Civil Partner Visa, you will need to satisfy the following requirements:
- Status of Partner: Your partner is British or Irish, is settled in the UK, has been granted pre-settled status, holds a Turkish Businessperson or Turkish Worker visa or has refugee status or humanitarian protection;
- Age: You and your partner are both over the age of 18;
- Not involved in a prohibited degree of relationship: You and your partner are not within a prohibited degree of relationship;
- In-person meeting: You and your partner have met in person;
- Recognised civil partnership: You and your partner are legally in a civil partnership that is recognised in the UK;
- Genuine relationship: Your relationship is genuine and subsisting;
- Intend to live together permanently: You and your partner intend to live together permanently in the UK;
- Not involved in previous relationships: Any previous relationship has broken down permanently;
- Financial requirement: You must satisfy a financial requirement;
- Accommodation: There is adequate accommodation for you and any dependents;
- Language: You speak and understand English to a required level.
Application Process for UK Civil Partner Visa
In most cases, you can provide proof of a civil partnership certificate that is legally recognised in the UK to prove that you are in a valid, legally binding civil partnership. However, you would need our help to assist you to prove that your relationship is genuine and subsisting.
After the application
When you are firstly granted leave to remain for your Civil Partnership visa, you will be allowed to stay in the UK for 33 months. Before the initial period is expired, you need to apply to extend your visa for another 30 months.
